PREPARATION OF BY-LAWS

Within the framework of the programme activities, the Protection of Cultural Heritage Office passed the Rulebook on the format and content of forms for licenses and certificates for taking out and exporting cultural property abroad and the manner of issuing licenses and certificates (Official Gazette of RM) No. 12/08) with the aim to conclude on the legislation for protection of cultural heritage and harmonisation with the EU legal regulation in this field.

The Rulebook regulates the procedure, forms and the manner in which the licenses are issued for temporary removal and export of protected property and the certification for removing unprotected property. The following forms are prescribed with this act:

• The standard license for removing protected property for up to 12 months;

• Special open license for multiple removal of protected property which is valid for up to 5 years;

• General open license for the removal of protected property which is valid for up to 5 years;

• License for export of protected goods which are not subject to the general veto for exports in terms of Article 52 of the Law and which do not represent national treasure;

• Certificate for removing and export abroad of antiques and art or other objects which are part of a collection and do not have the status of protected property.
