NI INSTITUTE AND MUSEUM STRUMICA

NI Institute and Museum-Strumica was founded in 1952. It had started its activities with purchasing and collecting museum materials from the field of history, ethnology, and archaeology. The first exhibition was organized in 1955, followed by numerous exhibitions that were presenting the cultural heritage of the region from the field of archaeology, ethnology, history, art history, and natural rarities. The Institution also had organized many archaeological excavations from 1977 to date. Important segment of the work of the Institution is the publishing activity, in the framework of which were published many researches of the Strumica region that refer to the period from prehistory to the XX century.

From 1987 is set a permanent museum exhibition that through the exhibits from the archaeological, historical, and ethnological collection, is giving a testimony at close range about the life in this area.
