Amendment to the Law on cultural heritage protection
The need to amend the Law on cultural heritage protection (“Official Gazette of the Republic of Macedonia, No. 20/24) resulted from the acknowledged problems in the Law's practice until now, as well as from the European legislation and the suggestions by several organisations and professionals in the field of protection of cultural heritage. Due to the urgency to implement the provisions of the European legislation, the amendments to the Law in this phase are related to only several fields, namely: archaeological research, import and export and taking object objects that are considered as cultural heritage out of the country and in the aspect restitution.
The need of additional amendments to the Law will continue well into the next year through the review of the submitted proposals by the Commission formed by the Office for exactly this purpose.
The amendments to the Law so far have been published in the Official Gazette of the Republic of Macedonia No. 115 dated on the 25.09.2007 and they that contain detailed explanations of the amendments. |
