Manual for inventorying and documentation of cultural heritage

The inventory and documentation are necessary for the promotion of the cultural heritage management and its inclusion in the processes of planning and sustainable development. The inventory and documentation represent much more than simple scientific aids, recommended in the international agreements and have a role of strategic significance. The complex contents of the cultural heritage that have to be inventoried today, as well as their relation with our every-day living and surrounding make a commitment for a clear definition and harmonization of the experiences at European level.

Regarding this issue, the Cultural Heritage Protection Office in the framework of the project “ Integrated Rehabilitation Project Plan/Survey of the Architectural and Archaeological Heritage of Southeast Europe ” towards the end of 2007 had published in Macedonian, the first of three publications of the Council of Europe – Guidance on Inventory and Documentation of the Cultural Heritage.

Soon it is expected the publishing of the two remaining publications: European Cultural Heritage (part 2) – a Review of Policies and Practice and Guidance for urban rehabilitation.
