PROMOTION OF THE CULTURAL HERITAGE OF REPUBLIC OF MACEDONIA AT THE FAIR ON CULTURAL GOODS, VENICE

The results of the perennial work on the Project that is jointly conducted by the Council of Europe and the European commission in the countries of South East Europe: Integrated Rehabilitation Project Plan/ Survey of the architectural and archaeological heritage of South East Europe, for the second time are presented at the Fair on cultural goods in Venice. Novelty in the organization at this year's appearance of the countries of South East Europe was the promotion of different types of heritage at separate stands in a specially intended space for this purpose. Having in mind that the activities of the members of delegations were various – ranging from presentations to Project promotion, through printed materials in English for all the monuments foreseen in the Project and for all the so far realized phases, participation at special working meetings for the further course of the Project itself, presentation of appropriate brochures, posters and other type of promotional materials for the cultural and natural heritage provided by the participating countries, to active participation at many colloquia where the main topics were the cultural tourism and the treatment of the special type of cultural heritage- the cultural landscape.

The preparation works on the presentation of our country were undertaken by the Cultural Heritage Protection Office in cooperation with a representative from the Sector for Tourism and Catering from the Ministry of Economy.

The Macedonian delegation at the Fair was comprised of : Julija Trickovska MA, from the CHP O, as Head of Delegation and Leader of the Project of the Council of Europe, Kokan Grcev PhD from the Institute for Folklore, participant at the debates for the further course of the Regional Program for Cultural and Natural Heritage in South East Europe, especially in relation with the present projections of the Council of Europe and UNESCO for the cultural corridors of South East Europe, and also Zoran Nikolovski, Assistant Head of the Sector for Tourism and Catering within the Ministry of Economy, who had the opportunity to establish contacts with institutions and authorities involved in tourism in R. Italy. Special impression on the visitors and the invited guests at the fair was made by the cocktail organized by the Secretariat of the Directorate for culture, education, and sports from the Council of Europe and two of the participating countries – R.Macedonia and R. Bulgaria that had offered traditional products from their countries for degusting.
