CULTURAL HERITAGE IN DANGER

After the undertaken activities of the inspection and the Sector for Identification, protection and use of the cultural heritage within the CHPO, and also the performed insight of the institution authorized for protection – the National Conservation Centre – Skopje, in relation with the violation of the condition of the protected cultural good – “ B egovska ku c a ” at “Cede Filipovski”str. 68 in Gostivar, the CHPO, according to article 43 of the Law on Protection of Cultural Heritage, had adopted the first decision for proclaiming a cultural heritage in danger. In the meantime, the CHPO had submitted a criminal charge to the Basic Public Prosecutor's Office from Gostivar against the investor “Tetro 1” from Gostivar, whose construction works in the immediate proximity of a cultural heritage are the basic cause for the aggravation of the good. Having in mind that it is a rare monument from the oriental residential architecture in Republic of Macedonia, that represented a part of a duplex of a specifically organized living and communicating space, with vibrant architectonic elements and rich profiles of the openings, especially impressive on the front facade, the Ministry of Culture is making efforts for urgent according of financial means for repairing of the condition.
