ACTIVITIES OF THE INSPECTION SERVICE
The Inspection Service within the Cultural Heritage Protection Office, acting upon received information had made an insight at the site „Crkva” in the village Rashce, and they ascertained damage at a bigger number of tombs from the cist type of thin stone plates with visible skeleton remains. According to the data from the archaeological map, it is a big Roman tumulus. The damaging of the tombs occurred during the construction of a road in the distant 1971.
The Cultural Heritage Protection Office, in cooperation with the NI Conservation Centre Skopje, is undertaking further activities for research and protection of this cultural space.
Acting upon a notification, the Cultural Heritage Protection Office had undertaken measures for securing an archaeological finding and establishing the site from where it was excavated.
The inspectors for cultural heritage, in coordination with the Ministry of Internal Affairs, had seized archaeological finding, found at a person in Demir Kapija. According to the received information the finding comes from the archaeological site “Bolnica” at Demir Kapija, and it is a part of a marble statue, most probably Artemis or Diana, according to the analogies from II - III century AD.
