MUSEUM OF THE TETOVO REGION
The National Institution Museum of the Tetovo Region was formed in 1950 and it is among the oldest museum in Macedonia . In the Museum are functioning the Archaeology, Ethnology, Art History and History departments, with a permanent historical and ethnological setting and one improvised gallery space. The Archaeology Department had realized several projects of archaeological excavations in Polog, where there are over 100 registered sites. The Ethnology Department is among the oldest departments with about 750 items. The Art History Department organized one colony of painters, several children photography, and graphics exhibitions and three international manifestations of minor graphics. The Museum has 600 graphics works.
The History Department had registered many memorial plaques and memorial monuments in Tetovo.
The Museum is organizing many thematic and independent exhibitions of artist from the town and wider.
In the framework of the Museum are the Memorial Museum of the National Hero Gjoce Stojcheski, the Museum of the CC of the CPM, the Turkish Hamam and a part of the complex Arabati Baba Tekje.
