Office for protection of cultural monuments and Museum - Stip

The Office for protection of cultural monuments and Museum - Stip was founded in 1950 when the first museum station was opened. In 1964 within the museum, the Bezisten Art gallery was opened and in 1972 the Gallery of icons in the Church St. Bogorodica was opened which in 1990 was set in the church of St. Nikola. Moreover, within the museum complex Anevi Gocevi a constant archaeological station was opened which contains 958 exhibits from the Neolithic and eneolithic times, as well as from the bronze, iron, classical, Macedonian, roman, the late ancient/early byzantine times and the middle ages.
